1967 Jaguar XKE E-Type Series 1 4.2 liter

265 bhp, 4,235 cc double overhead-camshaft six-cylinder engine, four-speed manual gearbox, independent front suspension with double wishbones, torsion bars and anti-roll bar, independent rear suspension with lower wishbones, trailing lower radius arms, coil springs, anti-roll bar, and four-wheel hydraulic disc brakes. Wheelbase: 96" Unveiled in 1961 in Geneva, the E-Type is an iconic sports car with all the right components, a gorgeous design, tremendous performance and race-bred heritage. Series I examples with 4.2-liter engines are widely considered the most collectable and remain eminently drivable and user friendly, yet very sporty. From the covered headlights and toggle switches to the triple SU-carbureted, 265 horsepower, double overhead camshaft motor and fully synchronized transmission, it has all the right features of a timeless sports car. With its monocoque passenger compartment/tail section, tube-framed engine bay and tilting bonnet, the E-Type was clearly descended from the legendary D-Type, but its well-appointed interior and compliant suspension made it an ideal two-seat touring car and successor for the XK 140 and 150. The E-Type was immediately successful, and its timeless design remains one of the most attractive sports cars ever built. While Sir William Lyons was personally involved in the design of all of Jaguar’s cars, he enlisted the formally trained mathematician and aerodynamicist Malcolm Sayer to execute the E-Type’s design. Beyond its fully independent suspension and advanced four-wheel disc brakes, the E-Type was also downright fast, with a reported top speed approaching 150 mph. No expense was spared in this E-Type’s comprehensive restoration, which was carried out by Jaguar specialists. The car was completely disassembled, stripped to bare metal, fitted, repainted, color sanded and buffed. A new interior was custom fitted and installed, the brightwork was redone, and all mechanical systems were gone through, rebuilt or replaced. The car benefits from a new exhaust system, battery, chrome wire wheels and tires, rubber, seals, new wire loom, hardware and much more. All in all, the craftsmanship and finish are excellent, from the silver exterior to the striking red interior. What a great color combination!

This Jaguar comes with a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust cetificate.
